Youth Cookie Sale —The youth of Spirit of Hope have started to raise money for the “Imagine No More Malaria” campaign. Next Sunday, February 26, they are baking and selling cookies to raise money with all proceeds going to this campaign.
Spirit of Hope Nursery —Families with little children are welcome to use the nursery which is located off the lower lobby. Trisha Tidemanson, our nursery coordinator, is an experienced child care worker and is here every Sunday with a volunteer assistant. The nursery is free to all families. Please sign in each week and leave your cell phone number with Trisha in case she needs to reach you. The nursery can accommodate children until they turn 3-years old.
February 26
Next Sunday! —We are pleased to welcome Jeff Ernst to Spirit of Hope. Jeff is a former confirmation student of Pastor Ed. He studied at the U of M and has traveled to Honduras since he was 13 years old. He is now the director of Children’s Villages of Honduras. He will be in the adult forum to discuss his work with the children of Honduras.
February Voice —The large print edition is available in the kiosk.
Outreach and Reconciling Ministry Team —will meet on Wednesday February 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Footitt Conference Room.
Spirit of Hope Ministry Trust Fund —provides a source of special funds for worthy programs and projects within the church and our community. The funds in the account are separate from the church operating budget and not available to use for the operating budget. The Ministry Trust Fund is managed by a Board of Advisors. The Board makes grants based upon applications. Typically the grants have been between $500 and $1,000. Applications are available from the church office. The Board will consider applications at its next meeting in April. If you have questions about the fund or the application process, contact one of the Board members.
May 17–19 Annual Flea Market
Flea Market Update —It’s time to clean out your closets and make a donation to our May Flea Market. Leave small items by the sign to the left of the main doors in the lobby. Bring large items in May. Please do not bring TVs, computers, computer software, or small toys.
Costume Jewelry —Do you have costume jewelry you don’t need or want any longer? United Methodist Women will be collecting jewelry for the spring flea market. This is a good fundraiser which allows us to support mission work. Please start setting aside your jewelry; and in March, we will let you know how you can donate your jewelry. Thank you!

So many ways to donate:
Each week, Rick and Ted (Rick’s the one with the dark nose and the cup of coffee) talk during Fellowship and coffee after Worship. Rick is Ted’s mentor. Their conversation is usually inspired by the day’s Gospel reading from the Common Lectionary. The comic strip always makes a point and usually gets a laugh. In doing so, the comic strip brings another means of contact with the Gospel for the day. Often that which makes us laugh, makes us remember.
